Kylian Mbappe is a French footballer who was born in France and currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain. Kylian, a talented youngster known for his efforts on the field, has been heavily linked with a summer move to Real Madrid in 2022. According to multiple sources, Mbappe was fully believed to have completed the move. However, it sparked debate and came as a surprise to many when Mbappe extended a three-year contract with PSG. Several factors contributed to his rejection of a move to Real Madrid. Let us take a look at them in this article.

1. The French giants do not seem ready to let him go to Real Madrid 

Not long ago, it was thought that Kylian Mbappe would be transferred to Real Madrid. The feeling back then was that Real Madrid fans were on the lookout for their next superstar before he finally made the move in the summer when his contract with PSG expired.

Except that he didn’t. Mbappe would go on to sign a lucrative new contract with PSG, turning down the opportunity to join Real Madrid. It goes without saying that this did not please the club’s supporters. Many of them do not want to see the Frenchman wear the Royal White jersey again.

According to industry experts, Mbappé will earn approximately $110 million this season between his salary and a share of his signing bonus under the terms of his contract, which, like most soccer contracts, is not public.

This is in addition to the estimated $18 million in annual endorsements Mbappé receives from Nike, Dior, Hublot, Oakley, and Panini. Mbappé’s interests outside of football do not stop there.

He recently appeared on the cover of the EA Sports FIFA video game for the third consecutive year. Mbappe founded his own production company, Zebra Valley. He joined the fantasy NFT platform Sorare as both an ambassador and an investor.
