10 Cheap Places to Eat in Paris
Your trip to Paris doesn’t have to cost you your life savings. There are many inexpensive spots around the city where you can eat cuisines from around the world.
While I am actually not referring to any of the kebab and falafel shops that you’ll find in the city center, these too are very cheap dining options.
Here are ten others to keep an eye out for:
1. Mobster Diner in Paris
In Paris, it’s not uncommon to be charged close to €20 for a simple burger and fries. Finding Mobster Diner on the Left Bank has brought a cheap but high quality burger option to the city.
Here you’ll eat for under €10. It’s a basic menu of meaty burgers and French fries. There is one vegetarian burger on the menu, and you can drink cheap beer here as well.

2. Higuma in Paris
Crossing back onto the Right Bank, there is Higuma.
This is some of the cheapest Japanese food in Paris; again, quality is not compromised to keep the prices low.
Higuma has been here for years, some of their loyal customers have been coming for over twenty years now, and they remain as satisfied every time. Perhaps this is why Higuma has opted to keep their prices so low. There are now three locations in the city.
They offer a sushi bar and a hot food menu with an array of Japanese noodles.

3. Tien Hiang in Paris
Tien Hiang will be one of the most interesting, and affordable, dining experiences you have in Paris if you give it the chance.
This is an entirely vegetable based restaurant, drawing on multiple Asian cuisines to make up the menu. You’ll find it to be a healthy mix of Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese; no meat is used, at all.
Both locals and tourists flock here looking to enjoy this unique experience, come early!

4. Chez Hamadi in Paris
Chez Hamadi is back on the Left Bank of the Seine, just across from Notre Dame.
This is a wonderfully authentic, and wonderfully cheap, Tunisian restaurant. Another spot that has been here for decades, keeping their prices well below worth since they opened.
Those who enjoy Tunisian grill will love the food options. There are many couscous dishes suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

5. Chez Nicos in Paris
Crepes are not difficult to find anywhere in Paris. Because of their popularity, however, they often fall under the prices that come with ‘tourist traps’, and you’ll easily be overcharged for these relatively inexpensive foods.
Chez Nicos keeps it real. Here you’ll eat crepes at reasonable prices with more than generous filling portions. They become full meals, as opposed to just a light street snack.
Both sweet and savory options are available.

6. Oi Sushi in Paris
Cheap sushi is relatively nonexistent in the French capital. When you find a spot, be sure to never let it go.
Oi Sushi is my personal go-to for cheap sushi in Paris. More than just being cheap, it’s value for money, because the experience of dining here is so pleasant as well. You’ll receive a complimentary glass of bubbly upon arrival.

7. Bombay Palace in Paris
Unlike sushi, cheap Indian food is quite abundant in Paris. I really like canteen-style Indian restaurants where their food options are laid out right in front of you, ready to be dished and served.
This canteen is near Montmartre, in the north of the city. The food is unbelievably cheap, each dish is just €5. However if you opt to pay with a card you’ll be charged slightly more; bring cash!

8. Colline d’Asie in Paris
Fancy some cheap Cambodian food while traveling Paris? Colline d’Asie is also near Montmartre, and is a really lovely little diner that specializes in Cambodian noodle dishes.
There are many options for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. Their rice bowls are also popular if you’re not in the noodle mood!

9. Mich’sandwiches in Paris
You’d think all sandwich shops in Paris would be considerably cheap — think again.
In a country where the baguette is very close to having a museum opened in its honor, sandwich prices can be as low or as high as the maker desires.
Mich’sandwiches is also across from the Notre Dame, and everything in store is cheap cheap cheap! Build you own or grab one of the ready made options — vegans and vegetarians welcome!

10. Bouillon Pigalle in Paris
While in Paris, sampling an authentic bouillon is imperative. Bouillons came about during the harsher times in the country’s history, back when working class people needed somewhere to eat between shifts that didn’t cost all of their wages.
Bouillons were grand dining spaces where decent food was made in bulk, and sold for next to nothing.
To revisit this tradition, bouillons have began popping up around Paris. They are up market dining spaces, with the capacity to hold hundreds of people at one time. Everything about the space and food screams ‘fine dining’, but you’ll rarely pay more than €5 per dish.
An unmissable experience while in Paris; this one in Pigalle is the newest and, in my opinion, the best!
