10 Best Restaurants Near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

The Bois de Boulogne is the biggest public green space in all of Paris, coming in at an incredibly 2.5 times bigger than Central Park in New York.

It spans most of the 16th arrondissement, and part of the 17th. There are many different suburbs and neighborhoods that exist around the park boundaries; all of them with wonderful gastronomic scenes.

You’ll never be short on places to eat while in this part of town, but you might be spoiled for choice, so here’s a top 10 list to narrow things down.

1. Le Pré Catelan near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

To start, I must mention one of the most impressive dining spaces in this entire district.

Nestled in the heart of the actual Bois du Boulogne, Le Pré Catelan is a Haute French restaurant that looks like one of the private chambers in Versailles Palace.

This is fine dining, and it comes with a price. If you’re in the mood to treat yourself then a trip to the park and this restaurant is the way to go. Bookings are essential.

2. Aqua Restaurant near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

This part of Paris has a big Italian community, and they’ve brought their cuisine with them. Aqua is a restaurant on the western boundary of the park, right on the Seine that actually wraps around both the front and back of the Bois de Boulogne (fun fact!).

Aqua is classic Italian and slightly upscale. The dining space overlooks the water and it’s incredibly charming.

It’s one of the furthest Italian restaurants from Paris’ city center, and yet it is fully booked most nights of the week. Call in advance!

3. Villa Auteuil near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

Another impressive Italian spot sits on the southernmost exit of the Bois de Boulogne.

It’s equally as upmarket, with a simple menu of classic Italian starters and pasta dishes. Seafood is a big part of the dining experience at Villa Auteuil.

If you can, request a table on their outdoor grass patch.

4. Le Village d’Auteuil near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

A short walk north from Villa Auteuil will bring you to Le Village d’Auteuil; the most popular bistro in the 16th arrondissement.

This restaurant is stuck in the past, and the dark wooden interiors take one right back to Paris in the 1930s. It’s a classic bistro menu with a great wine list. Like most bistros in Paris, vegans and vegetarians aren’t well catered to.

If you’re in the mood to try some French delicacies while near the Bois de Boulogne then this would be the place to do so! Did someone say escargots?

5. Brasserie Auteuil near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

If you’re feeling super adventurous, and are keen to see all that the 16th arrondissement has to offer, then consider doing a self-guided walking tour from the Eiffel Tower to the Bois de Boulogne.

The most direct route will take under 30 minutes, and bring you directly to a restaurant called Brasserie Auteuil.

This is an Italian eatery with a stylish and vibrant setting. The outdoor terrace is full of plant life, and the food is all the home comfort you can imagine.

From here, you’re a two minute walk from the park entrance and all the wonders that lie within.

6. La Rotonde de la Muette near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

Not far away sits another opulent dining space, this one thankfully without the price tag to match!

La Rotonde de la Muette’s dining space looks like a lavish palace parlor, but the menu is surprisingly casual and affordable.

Enjoy all your favorite French bistro and brasserie dishes in this highly Instagrammable environment. La Rotonde de la Muette is open from early in the morning through until just before midnight; you can eat all meals of the day in this one spot.

7. Restaurant Bon near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

Fine dining-style Asian restaurants are not a common find in Paris, but Restaurant Bon is here to change the game.

Situated in the center of the 16th arrondissement, Restaurant Bon lies exactly in between the Bois de Boulogne and the Eiffel Tower.

They open for both lunch and dinner service, with an upmarket menu of Japanese and European fusion dishes. It’s better to tell your server your dietary preferences and let them take over, though I do highly recommend the eggplant.

8. Le Relais du Bois near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

I stumbled into Le Relais du Bois by accident on a rainy day trying to get home from the Bois de Boulogne. To my delight, the interior was something out of the history books; like a cozy cafe in which Edith Piaf might have given some surprise performances back in the day.

This is classic French cuisine, with an excellent grilled fish section to their menu. Start with the oysters and mussels & work your way into one of their sea-based mains.

Considering the quality of service and overall ambiance, the menu at Le Relais du Bois is very reasonably priced.

9. Le 120 near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

Le 120 is one of the most charming spots in all of the 16th. It’s a bistro and a tea house all wrapped up in one; by day you’ll drink teas from around the world and eat tasty lunches and baked goods, & by night you’ll be treated to a finely curated menu with an equally as impressive wine list.

This is a great spot near the Bois de Boulogne for a date night if you happen to be in the market. I recommend making a reservation in advance if you intend to dine during evening service on a weekend.

10. Al Dar Restaurant near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris

Al Dar is one of few Lebanese restaurants around the Bois de Boulogne. It attracts most of the Lebanese locals, who can be seen dining in the space most nights of the week.

The best way to experience any traditional Lebanese menu is by getting a bit of everything. Tasting menus are on offer at Al Dar and the servers will portion just the right amount of each main menu item for the table to enjoy.

As always, vegans and vegetarians can eat at Al Dar with ease. Most Lebanese cuisine is unintentionally vegan.
