Not a single day goes by without the sensational French prodigy making the news and this time round it looks like he has got interest from one of basketball’s legends.

Wembanyama is not new to compliments and for some time now he has been getting the spotlight as he is set to join the NBA. The praise is set to be immense and he should brace himself for more compliments.

Wembanyama is projected to be the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft slated for June 22 and by now most people have an idea where he might be headed.

With the recent results from the 2023 draft lottery that was held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the Spurs won the opportunity to get the first overall pick in the draft and hence it’s obvious they might go for Wembanyama.

All eyes set on Wembanyama does not surprise us as the lad has been getting immense hype which has been compared to the buzz LeBron James got back in 2003 and if you were there you know what I mean(It was the craziest).

Looking at everyone throwing themselves at Victor with compliments coming from east to west it’s fair to say the young lad shows potential to become one of the best-playing basketball if not the best.

I mean who wouldn’t throw themselves at the highest prospected basketball player ever? Come on.

Wembanyama has impressed various notable names in basketball from Magic Johnson, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Stephen Curry to being compared to Kevin Durant.

LeBron James has even referred to him as an ‘Alien ’ thanks to his outwardly build and skills that distinguish him from the ordinary player.

Now with all eyes set on the San Antonio Spurs to draft Wembanyama, it has left everyone excited with the legendary Tim Duncan being one of the many.

The 5X NBA champion is reportedly expected to make a comeback at the Spurs this coming season after playing 19 seasons and being Spurs’ assistant coach for 16 months.

Tim Duncan was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the 1997 NBA draft as the first overall pick and he played with the franchise his entire career from 1997 to 2016. He then took over an assistant coach position for 16 months from 2019 to 2020.

According to Marca, the Spurs are planning to have Tim Duncan regularly mentor the 7’4” French phenom as he will get drafted into the franchise.

This will not be the first time Tim and Wembanyama are working together as they have linked before to work together in 2021 at the FIBA U19 World Cup.

These two working together will be a sight to behold and their having previously worked together will bring an instant chemistry which will be instrumental in Victor’s career.

Adding to his already established prowess, there is a thing or two the 19-year-old can learn from Tim Duncan and perhaps the 5X NBA champion might give him the secret ingredient to being an NBA Champion.

All we have to do is wait and see when Victor finally lands in San Antonio.
