This London Airport is one of the Best in Europe

London’s Luton Airport was recently crowned one of the best in the region  at the 2024 Airport Council International European  Awards. It won the best airport award in the 10 to 25 million passengers category.

Also shortlisted in the same category were Brussels Airport in Belgium and Spain’s Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport. It was the only UK airport to win at the event, although Heathrow Airport was also commended in the over 40 million passengers category.

Following the win, the airport posted on X, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been named European Airport of the Year (10-25 million passengers) at the prestigious 2024 ACI EUROPE Best Airport Awards. Well done team!”

This award isn’t just a pat on the back – it signifies Luton’s significant strides towards becoming a passenger-friendly and efficient travel hub. So, what impressed the judges? The aiport’s ‘One Team, One Plan’ approach was commended for achieving ‘increased resilience, reduced incidents and employee satisfaction.’

Sustainability has also been a major focus at Luton. The airport has implemented initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and is aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. Their adaptability has facilitated a Level 4 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation program achievement. This commitment to environmental responsibility is a major plus for eco-conscious travelers.
