Rome is set to become a temporary home for the Bingham Cup when the eternal city hosts the gay and inclusive rugby tournament for four days. In its eleventh edition, this inclusive tournament is set to take place in Italy for the first time. From May 23 to 26, the tournament will be held in Rome with more than one hundred and forty teams and over five thousand participants. The tournament is a celebration of inclusivity as people celebrate the principles of respect and solidarity in sports.

Founded in 2002, the Bingham Cup, also known as the Mark Kendall Bingham Memorial Tournament, is a global rugby tournament that celebrates inclusivity. The tournament was named after Mark Bingham, who is honored as a hero who fought to save people’s lives during the September 11 terrorist attack in the United States of America. 

The tournament was first held in San Francisco in 2002 and was organized by the International Gay Rugby Association and Board. Since then, the tournament has been held in different countries across the world, attracting interest from people from the LGBTQ+ community and from everybody else interested in the sport. 

According to Wanted in Rome, the Bingham Cup tournament is the biggest amateur tournament in the world and has a lot of fans across the world. People across the world will be watching this tournament on television and live stream.
