French Phenom Final Game In France Might Be Played At The Iconic Arena
From the phenomenal Rafael Nadal and now to the sensational Victor Wembanyama, who would have thought Roland Garros would see some of the best talents on the planet pass through?
Boasting the capability of hosting 14,000 spectators, Roland Garros is the go-to arena that Metropolitans 92 chose to play their game 3 and possibly game 4 of their final against Monaco for the French League Finals.
June 15 will see Metropolitans 92 go head to head against Monaco in game 3 to determine the outright winner of the finals.
A subsequent game 4 might follow two days later if a winner will be out of reach after game 3.
Wembanyama playing for Metropolitans 92 and being a centre-piece for the success of the team will be playing his final games in the jerseys as he has his eyes set to join the NBA come June 22, 2023, when the NBA draft takes place.
Wembanyama has been touted to be the most hyped prospect ever for the past decade and he is projected to be the first overall pick.
The San Antonio Spurs won the chance to draft first after edging out the Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets to get the first overall pick in the concluded NBA Draft lottery held on May 16, 2023, in Chicago.
With their pick, they will most likely go for Wembanyama and a chance to rebuild the struggling franchise will be placed on Wembanyama’s shoulders.
Before Wembanyama gets to rock the silver and black or play his first game at the AT & T Stadium, he still has to finish his job at the Metropolitans 92 and that is to lead them to the final game in the finals.
They are already there and the only uphill task remaining is to edge out Monaco to claim the Betclic Elite Finals victory.
Victor Wembanyama has been able to garner fans across the world and his games are known to attract the who is who in the modern-day world.
It is no surprise that his games attract massive crowds that would like to see the 7’4” French prodigy play.
This time might be easier but once he gets to the NBA the access might be a little bit limited.
This revelation has led the Metropolitans to opt for their finals game 3 and 4 to be played at the Roland Garros which can accommodate more than 14, 000 fans given the magnitude of the game.
The Marcel-Cerdan, Mets Hime-court were ruled out because of lack of adequate space to accommodate more than 3,000 fans.
The Accor Arena could have been a good alternative if it were not for the June 17 comedian Ineg Reg’s show thus leaving Roland Garros as the best alternative right now.
The arena is no new to big names and saying goodbye to a one-of-a-kind player in the history of basketball is a much befitting send-off.
Playing his final games at the Roland Garros in front of thousands of fans will be a day to remember for Wembanyama.
Victor will be joining the NBA on June 22, 2023, and we shall find out if he will be playing at the AT&T Stadium or somewhere else.
