An expert analysis of global Google searches by CV Villas has revealed the top honeymoon destinations in the world for 2024/25, and Portugal’s Madeira Island ranks high. Newly-weds will inevitably seek the best experience they can get when choosing their honeymoon destinations. Portugal has increasingly become popular for these kind of getaways, with its stunning scenery, rich history, delicious food, and overall charm.
CV Villas gathered a list of 197 European destinations, and analyzed google searches for ‘destination name + honeymoon’. Top of the ranking was the Greek island of Lefkada, with its beautiful scenery, sparkling blue waters and jaw-dropping white cliffs. Following closely was Split in Croatia, a charming town overlooking the Adriatic Sea. In third place was Bled, with its picturesque Lake Bled and medieval castle backdrop.
Portugal’s Madeira came in at number four, having seen an 85% increase in google searches for honeymoon destinations. The stunning archipelago is known for its dramatic landscapes, with lush green mountains, and volcanic rock formations. Scenic views of the coastline adds to its charm, accentuating its natural beauty. The island also boasts fascinating places of interest, such as the picturesque Madeira Botanical Garden, Monte Palace Tropical Garden and numerous natural swimming spots.
Filling up the top 10 spots are Marseille (France), Ischia (Italy), Naxos (Greece), Dolomites (Italy), Antalya (Turkey) and Hvar (Croatia), in that order.
