The Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival, or BCN Film Fest, has rolled out the red carpet for a star-studded week of cinematic brilliance in the Catalan capital.

Running from April 18th to the 26th, this celluloid extravaganza promises to be a must-attend event for film aficionados across the globe.

Tinseltown’s brightest luminaries have descended upon Barcelona, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration of the silver screen.

Leading the illustrious roster of talents is acclaimed actress Meg Ryan, who will grace the festival with her presence for the screening of “What Happens Next,” a film she directed and starred in alongside 90s icon David Duchovny.

During her visit, Ryan sent ripples of excitement through the local film community when she expressed her desire to potentially shoot a project in Barcelona, joking while talking to Catalan News, “How fantastic would that be? Can you find something for me to direct?”

This tantalizing prospect has left fans and industry insiders alike eagerly speculating about the possibility of witnessing Ryan’s artistry unfold against the backdrop of the enchanting Catalan capital.

Beyond Ryan’s star power, the BCN Film Fest has assembled an impressive roster of cinematic luminaries, including the crew of the opening film “Casa en flames” – Dani de la Orden, Emma Vilarasau, Clara Segura, María Rodríguez Soto, and José Pérez Ocaña.

Additionally, celebrated talents such as Paola Cortellesi (“Siempre nos quedará mañana”), Vincent Pérez (“Asunto de honour”), Belén Rueda, Irene Escolar, Laura Jou, J.A. Bayona (“Caída Libre”), Jaime Lorente, Albert Baró, Eva Llorach, Kike Maíllo (“Disco, Ibiza, Locomía”), Mikael Persbrandt (“Hammarskjöld. Fight for Peace”), and the “Mala persona” team of Fer García-Ruiz, Arturo Valls, Malena Alterio, Betsy Túrnez, and José Corbacho are set to dazzle audiences with their talent and charisma.

For cinema connoisseurs, the BCN Film Fest promises a veritable feast, presenting 69 titles across its eight sections at various venues throughout Barcelona.

Until April 26th, moviegoers can revel in 15 world premieres, one European premiere, 20 Spanish premieres, and 11 Catalan premieres, showcasing the best of contemporary and independent filmmaking on a global scale.

As Barcelona basks in the cinematic spotlight, the anticipation builds for what promises to be a week-long celebration of artistic expression, cultural exchange, and the enduring magic of storytelling through the medium of film.
