Central London is set to become a hub of fashionable headwear this Sunday, 7 April, as stylish individuals gather to parade around town for the London Hat Walk. The event attracts professional milliners and hatters, as well as vintage and retro enthusiasts, collectors, cosplayers, re-enactors, hobby crafters, and novelty hat-wearers. The walk is expected to depart from St James’s Church, Piccadilly at 1 pm.

According to the official website, the 2024 London Hat Walk marks the 10th anniversary of the very first London Hat Week. The occasion will be marked with a very special edition of the walk-in collaboration with other groups hosting hat walks in other cities across the globe.

Participants will follow a leader on an amble about town, showcasing their headwear and making new friends. Anyone is welcome to join the London Hat Walk, with the one simple rule being that you must wear a hat.

In addition to the Hat Walk, there will be a surplus sale of hats and other headwear at St James’s on both Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April. Vendors include Siggi Hats, All the Fun of the Fair, Atelier Millinery, and Ellie Rose.

The London Hat Walk originated in Barcelona in 2014 and has since spread to 14 cities worldwide, including Oslo, Adelaide, Buenos Aires, and Seoul. This year’s event promises to be a spectacle of stylish headwear and a celebration of fashion and creativity.
