Welcome to our interview series, where we use AI to conduct ‘interviews’ with hard-to-reach people. Most questions were AI generated using the style of Oprah, Larry King, or Jimmy Fallon. All of James Bond’s responses were generated by ChatGPT, Jasper, or Bard

James Bond is a fictional British secret agent, also known as Agent 007, created by author Ian Fleming in the 1950s. Bond was first conceived as a Cold War-era operative, renowned for his mastery of gadgets, weapons, and deadly efficiency as a spy. At the movies, James Bond was played by seven actors: Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

Bond continues to captivate audiences around the world, and that’s the main reason we decided to interview him in this series and bring a little bit of his sophistication and charm to our audience.

Oliver: Mr. Bond, thank you for being here today.

James Bond: I am always happy to speak with the press and share my thoughts and experiences. Thank you for the opportunity.

Oliver: People say Goldfinger was possibly your best movie. Do you agree?

James Bond
: It’s difficult to pick a single best film. Each movie offers its own unique challenges and opportunities and I’ve been lucky enough to work with some truly talented filmmakers and co-stars over the years. That being said, “Goldfinger” is certainly one of my personal favorites. The combination of thrilling action sequences, memorable one-liners and iconic villains make it a standout entry in the Bond franchise. It is also a fans favorite, but, at the end of the day, I just try to bring my best to every film and let the fans and critics decide which one is their favorite.

Oliver: Which is the best gadget Q has ever made for you?

James Bond
: I have to say that over the years Q has provided me with some truly exceptional gadgets. It’s hard to choose just one, but if I have to pick, I would say my Aston Martin DB5, complete with various modifications and gadgets, is one of the best. From the ejector seat to the machine guns, it’s a magnificent piece of engineering that has served me well on many occasions.

Oliver: Who do you think made the most cunning villain?

James Bond: It is difficult to choose just one cunning villain as there have been many formidable foes throughout my on-screen adventures. From Ernst Stavro Blofeld to Auric Goldfinger, each one posed a unique challenge and added depth to the story. I would say they are all equally cunning in their own ways.

Oliver: What inspired you to become a spy and join the British Secret Service?

James Bond: When I was young, I saw the atrocities of war and the impact they had on individuals and societies. I knew I wanted to do something to help make the world a safer place, and the British Secret Service offered me a unique opportunity to do just that.

I joined the service as soon as I was eligible and have been proud to serve ever since. The life of a spy can be dangerous and demanding, but it is also incredibly rewarding. I have had the chance to see the world, meet new people, and use my skills and training to make a real difference.

Oliver: We see you ski, sky dive, swim, play tennis, ride horses, and golf. Which sport do you think you are best at?

James Bond: I excel in all the physical activities I participate in, but if I had to choose one, I would say skiing. It’s a sport that requires a great deal of skill, control, and precision, and I have always been a fan of high-speed pursuits. Plus, skiing down a mountain at breakneck speeds can be a rush like no other. But, I’m also known for my sharpshooting skills and quick thinking, which come in handy in many of my missions.

Oliver: Can you tell me about one or two of your most dangerous missions?

James Bond
: I’m not one to shy away from danger and have been on countless missions that tested my skills and pushed me to the limit.

One particularly dangerous mission was in “Moonraker.” I was tasked with stopping the villainous Hugo Drax from destroying all human life on Earth with a deadly nerve gas. I faced numerous challenges, including fighting off Drax’s henchmen, navigating through dangerous terrain, and ultimately battling Drax himself in a high-stakes showdown.

Another dangerous mission was in “GoldenEye.” I was tasked with stopping a rogue agent who had stolen an advanced weapons system and was planning to use it to unleash destruction on London. This mission took me from the skies above Russia to the streets of St. Petersburg and eventually to a daring showdown in a Cuban jungle. I had to use all my wit and skill to outwit the enemy and stop them from executing their plan.

Oliver: Do you consider yourself a womanizer?

James Bond: Womanizer? I would rather say that I am confident, suave and charming, and women are often drawn to me. However, it could be argued that my relationships with women are more complicated than simply being a womanizer. I am a spy and my relationships, both professional and personal, are often part of my missions. Additionally, while I can be known for many romantic escapades, I think I am somewhat complex with my own set of flaws and vulnerabilities.

Oliver: Julia Roberts is rumored to be interested in being your co-star. Would that be a good fit?

James Bond: I would say that I believe talent speaks for itself. I am open to working with any actress who can bring her best to the role, regardless of her fame or reputation. That being said, I am always appreciative of the opportunity to work with great talent, and Julia Roberts is certainly one of the best in the business.

Oliver: Why do you order your Martini shaken not stirred?

James Bond: I prefer my Martinis shaken, not stirred because it makes for a smoother and more refreshing drink. When a martini is shaken, the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, which results in a colder and more evenly distributed drink. Stirring can sometimes cause the drink to become too diluted, so shaking is my preferred method for getting a perfectly mixed martini every time. Of course, it also adds to my image as the ultimate gentleman spy, who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life with style and sophistication.

Oliver: Can you compare yourself with Jason Bourne?

James Bond: I would say that while Jason Bourne and I both exist in the world of espionage and international intrigue, our approach and styles are quite different. I am suave, sophisticated, and always in control, while Bourne is a more rugged and reactionary. Furthermore, our personalities, motivations and methods of operation are different, and that is where our distinct characters emanate from.

Oliver: You worked with Felix Leiter a number of times. What impressed you the most about him?

James Bond: I still have a great deal of respect for Felix Leiter, who I had the privilege of working with on a number of occasions. There are many things that impressed me about Felix, but here are a few that stand out:

  1. Loyalty: Felix was one of the most loyal individuals I have ever met. He was always there for his friends, including me, and would do whatever it takes to protect those he cared about.
  2. Intelligence: Felix was a smart and savvy individual who was always one step ahead of the game. He had a wealth of knowledge and experience that he brought to the table, which made him an invaluable asset in the field.
  3. Fearlessness: Felix was not afraid to take risks and was always willing to put himself in harm’s way for the greater good. He was a true hero and I am grateful to have had him as a friend and colleague.
  4. Sense of humor: Despite the often dangerous and stressful nature of our line of work, Felix had a great sense of humor that could lighten even the tensest situations.

Overall, I would say that Felix Leiter was one of the most impressive individuals I have had the pleasure of working with, and I am grateful for the friendship and partnership that we had.

Oliver: During your life, you were played by several great actors in your movies. Which one was your favorite?

James Bond: I have been portrayed by some incredibly talented actors over the years, each of whom brought their own unique interpretation of the character to the screen. Some of the most memorable Bond portrayals include Sean Connery, who originated the role in the early films and is often considered the quintessential Bond; Roger Moore, who played Bond in seven films and brought a more lighthearted and comedic tone to the character; and Daniel Craig, who has been praised for his gritty, realistic take on the character. Regardless of who has played me, I am always dedicated to my mission and to serving Queen and country.

Oliver: I like to end my interviews with one playful question, What is your favorite color

James Bond: I prefer black as it is a classic color that exudes sophistication and elegance, which is fitting for my role as a spy. Additionally, black is versatile and can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion, making it a practical choice for a spy on a mission.

Oliver: Thank you for being gracious and a good sport, Mr. Bond.

James Bond: It’s always a pleasure to participate in these kinds of interviews. I’m glad I could be of assistance, and if there’s anything else I can do for you, just let me know. Until then, I’ll be keeping an eye out for any new missions that may require my attention. Cheers!
