Jenna Ortega has made the headlines once again by bringing her distinctive style on the red carpet at the Met Gala, while many think it was stunning, many are questioning if the actress is getting obsessed with Wednesday Addams.

Well, this year’s Met gala was inspired by the Costume Institute exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” celebrates the full work and life of Karl Lagerfeld, so the dress code for this event was, fittingly, “in honor of Karl.”

All eyes were on the red carpet this year for how guests would interpret Lagerfeld’s complicated legacy. Lagerfeld was prominently known for working with some prestigious fashion firms, including Balmain, Patou, and Chloé. This year’s Met Gala was in celebration of his 65year career in design.

Some celebrities undoubtedly succeeded in executing the Met Gala’s concept. The real question is, was Jenna Ortega successful in setting the pace with her appearance? Come to think about it, Jenna Ortega’s particular sense of style seems to have made its way into her actual clothing.

For this prestigious event she embraces her Gothic style as she depicted in the famous Netflix show, Wednesday. Thom brown hands were behind the design to her outfit. Thom incorporates tweeds, chains and pearls which were inspired by Karl`s work with Chanel. Looks definitely take time to come together and for the Met Gala, Thom has some serious work cut out for himself. It is clear that the weeks of effort were worthwhile. The whole look came together quit well and definitely played homage to Karl`s work.

Thom Browne says in an interview that when working with someone like Jenna Ortega, there had to be some sort of authentic relationship between them. During one of the fitting sessions, Jenna seemed genuinely impressed by how Thom was able to incorporated Karls` work into the outfit. Jenna seemed genuinely excited to pay tribute to both Karls and Thoms` work.

Jenna`s make up and shoes definitely ties the whole Gothic vibe together. She just executed a real kill! The black and white color scheme with pearls, the bow, the flow behind her, and the dress-suit combo! Not forgetting her tuxedo-style high heels, the black knee-high boots, the accessories, nails, hair, and the makeup look are all, in my opinion, stunning. The white shirt really brought out the chains in the outfit.

For the looks we see at the Met Gala, comfort is out the window; all these famous people are just concerned with their appearances. These designs were in no way meant to be comfortable. However, we should give credit where its due, Jenna absolutely crushed the Met Gala. The outfit was definitely on brand and on theme.

It is so amazing how Thom was able to capture Chanel and Karl, in particular with the color scheme, the bodice, the sleeves, and the chains and the pearls while still remaining true to Jenna`s character. Jenna held her skirt at the red carpet to show off the skirt`s black textured outside and white silky. A true testament to Jenna Ortega’s flair and grace was her presence at the Met Gala in 2023. The attire definitely speaks volumes.
