After the San Antonio Spurs won the first overall pick in the NBA Draft lottery, they are expected to select him when the day comes.

As seen by the excitement of their agent when they landed the first overall pick, we can agree that Wembanyama is expected to revolutionize the franchise once he gets there.

Victor is set to boost the franchise value where he joins by more than half a billion dollars with reports indicating that not only will the team benefit but the entire area.

Although all these are some contributions expected by drafting Victor, the bigger role is to transform the San Antonio Spurs to its glory days.

Getting first pick means a team has been struggling the past season and finished bottom of the table hence getting the chance to revamp their squad.

For the San Antonio Spurs, they have been in the trenches for long now with the playoffs looking like a future goal for them.

They last played in the playoffs in 2020 and their last ring was won in 2014 led by Tim Duncan. Victor is expected to bring all these back and as much as it seems doable, it is not easy.

There are so many expectations on him and this can be compared to what was expected from an 18-year-old LeBron James who was a star player in his senior year at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron back in 2003.
