EasyJet Brings Paris Closer to Leeds with New Direct Flights

Here’s some good news for travelers. EasyJet’s expanding network now encompasses not only Belfast and Geneva but also the newly introduced route between Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG). This route is set to start from October 28, 2024 until March 28, 2025 as reported by Telegraphs & Argus.

The newly introduced route operates on Mondays and Fridays, providing convenient travel options for both business trips and leisure getaways. Flights arrive at LBA at 1:30 PM on Mondays with a return departure at 2:10 PM. On Fridays the flight arrives at  12:10 PM and makes its departure at 12:40 PM.

Tom Holdsworth, LBA’s Aviation Development Manager, enthusiastically emphasized Paris’s significance as a major global destination due to the new route. “Paris is one of the world’s most iconic cities, and this addition to our growing network is a reflection of the increasing demand from the region’s holidaymakers to visit some of the most sought-after destinations in Europe,” Holdsworth said.

The new route is a direct response to increased passenger demand at LBA, fueled by both leisure and business travelers from the area. As part of this plan, LBA aims to create 5,500 new jobs and contribute nearly £1 billion to the local economy by targeting seven million passengers annually by  the year 2030.

For the Leeds region and Yorkshire at large, this direct connection unlocks fresh tourism prospects, granting travelers access to the French capital. The ease and convenience if this new route could lead to increased visitor numbers in the city.

In addition, easyJet’s winter schedule features several weekly flights to Geneva, Switzerland, from January 18, 2025, onwards. This seasonal route is especially appealing to winter sports enthusiasts seeking access to the Swiss Alps.

As the airport expands its network and invests in facilities, new routes like this one significantly enhance its reputation and operational capabilities. For travelers, the Paris route provides additional options and convenience.
