The Alentejo World Heritage Festival will hold its second edition from June 28th to 30th in a village within the municipality of Montemor-o-Novo. This cultural celebration aims to showcase the region’s rich heritage and UNESCO-recognized musical traditions.

Main acts

A highlight of the festival will be a concert by the acclaimed Fado singer Carminho. Fado, a melancholic yet powerful form of Portuguese song, is sure to captivate audiences. The event will also feature the traditional Alentejo singing style, a testament to the region’s unique musical legacy. Carminho’s concert is scheduled for 28th June, as well as children’s performances. Nancy Vieira, a Cabo Verdean singer, will take to the stage on 29th as the main performance.

The festival will close it curtains on 30th with a piano and singing recital with Camões’s poems. Besides music performances, other activities to look out for include food, crafts and cultural exhibitions.
