Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to descend upon the Prague Exhibition Grounds in Holesovice this summer for the largest ice cream festival in Central Europe. Over the course of two days, local and international vendors will be scooping, rolling and sculpting a wide array of frozen confections for eager crowds.
The 10th annual Prague Ice Cream Festival will take place on June 22 and 23 this year. It is an open invitation to celebrate the creamy, sweet innovation of ice cream makers from across Europe.
“Prague’s Ice Cream Festival has grown into a beloved tradition for families, friend groups and sweet-tooths alike,” said festival organizer Vera Mrtvickova. “This year’s 10th-anniversary edition will be our biggest celebration yet of the artistry and craftsmanship of ice cream.”
An Icy Tradition Like No Other
What started as a local event in 2015 has blossomed into Central Europe’s largest ice cream celebration. Visitors and vendors from across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria and beyond are drawn to this festival. Dozens of stalls showcasing an incredible array of icy innovations, it’s a paradise for those with a sweet tooth.
“The Prague Ice Cream Festival is a beloved summer tradition that brings people together over a shared love of frozen desserts,” said a festival organiser. “This year’s 10th anniversary will be our biggest and most impressive yet.”
A Scoop for Summer’s Sweetest Celebration
Festival goers can expect to be dazzled by an extraordinary selection of gelatos, soft serves, yoghurt varieties, sorbets, ice rolls and more – including an impressive lineup of vegan and organic options. There’s something to thrill every palate, from crowd-pleasing classics to new flavour fusions,.
But the fun doesn’t stop at sampling. The festival has lined up live music performances, kid-friendly activities, treat-making competitions and more. Food trucks will be serving up hot meals, cold beverages and fresh fruit to complement the icy indulgences.
“We strive to create an atmosphere that’s as vibrant and energetic as the treats themselves,” Novakova explained. “It’s a chance for people to come together, make memories and celebrate summer at its sweetest.”
A Cool Way to Give Back
In true Czech spirit, the festival isn’t just about indulging. A portion of proceeds will benefit Kapka nadeje (A Drop of Hope) and ADRA charities. So attendees can feel good about treating themselves while supporting great causes.
