2. Mermaid Oyster Bar

6. Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co.

It has been in the fishmongering business for 5 generations.  It is both a fish market and a seafood restaurant. They value the fish and practice sustainable consumption. They do not overfish and they make sure to use the whole fish from the fillets to fish bones for stock, even the off-cuts that are often overlooked. In the restaurant, they have a lobster tank and a raw bar piled high with oysters, littleneck clams, live sea scallops, and sea urchins. You get to watch them shuck and prep in front of your eyes. 10. Le Bernardin

It was founded by a brother-and-sister team of the late Gilbert and Maguy Le Coze in 1986. Since its opening, it has remained one of the world’s top restaurants.
