Here is a little list of the maps of Paris you need to visit our city. They will allow you to find your way in the city!

Metro map

The metro is the most convenient way to travel in Paris; even if it sometimes stinks (I won’t deny that my lovely Paris isn’t perfect) the metro is fast. It’s definitely one of the maps of Paris you need. Read this article if you want more information about how to use the metro.

Even if most young Parisians don’t like bus, I do (for more information read our guide)! Because I love my city and some buses are way less expensive than a tour but drive where you can enjoy the wonders of Paris. The bus map is definitely one of the maps of Paris you need!

For example the bus Nº96 goes from Montparnasse to Porte des Lilas by the Quai de Seine, Saint Paul and its church, but also Saint Michel and its fountain, Châtelet, the Hôtel de Ville, and Place des Vosges! Take a look at which bus you can take to go from one place to another. You may miss important highlights of the city by taking the metro.

Train RER map

Trains and RER are the best way to go out of Paris: to La Défense, or Versailles as examples. But it is slower than the metro to travel inside the city. Once again, here is one of the maps of Paris you need! Concerning the public transportations, it may be easier for you to plan your trip on the website of the RATP which exists in English.

So you can check what to visit in one single day, it may be smarter to visit the Musée du Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and the Tour Eiffel the same day.

Tickets can be difficult to find at the door. Our advice would be to purchase them in advance to avoid waiting in what can be super long line at the security entrance – thirty minutes to two hours for the Louvre.

  • Find more information about the Louvre here and buy tickets there (e-tickets).
  • Learn more about the Orsay museum in this article.
  • Read this article to find out everything you need to know about the Eiffel Tower.

6 Useful mobile apps to have while in Paris

RATP App

RATP is the transportation application of Paris’s leading transportation provider. When in Paris, it is useful to check timetables and upcoming departures around you. It allows you to plan your trip, examine real-time transit times, receive notifications in the event of a line disruption (which happens more frequently than we believe), and access all RATP network maps. All of the information is available on your RER, Metro, Bus, Tramway, or Transilien modes of transportation. It also provides information on the density of traffic on your route.

Citymapper App

This is a popular mapping and route finder app in various capitals, not only Paris. Citymapper allows you to plan your trips by walking, driving, cycling, or taking public transportation. Citymapper includes Métro, buses, RER trains, tramways, and Vélib stations in Paris. It directs you to the station where you need to get on and tells you how long the vehicle will take to arrive, which stop you are at, and how many stations are left.

TheFork App

The Fork is a simple app for making restaurant appointments. It is possible to examine real consumer reviews as well as shared images. It is extensively used and known as “La Fourchette” in France. The Fork allows users to view restaurants categorized by distance and keeps them informed on restaurant hourly discounts. Every reservation booked through the app earns users points that may be utilized for future reservations. The app is available on iTunes and Google Play.

Traveling to countries where you don’t understand the language can be intimidating but technology has made it much easier in recent years. The tool Google Translate is fantastic. It’s quick, simple to use and even works offline making it ideal for last-minute translations while you’re out and about. Having said that, Google Translate can be helpful when utilized for the correct purpose. Google Translate will translate a document well enough for you to piece together the text’s broad meaning if you want to see what it says in your native tongue.

Velib’ App

The first bike-sharing scheme in Paris launched in 2007, altering how thousands of people get around the city every day. The Velib’, a combination of the terms Vélo and Liberté, meaning “bike freedom,” aimed to limit the number of cars on the road and encourage people to explore Paris by bike. Even if you don’t possess a bicycle, you can still enjoy the benefits, such as watching the sunset while riding from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower along the Seine. With Velib’, you may go around the city swiftly without having to enter the dark, underground metro. You’ll also be able to cover more ground than you could on foot, giving you the opportunity to view even more of this beautiful city!

Uber App

Uber is currently operational in Paris. Uber is a wonderful alternative when you need a ride because of its pricing stability, feedback features, and convenience of payment. UberPOOL is the most affordable choice because it allows you to share the vehicle with other passengers and split the cost. When traveling with three or four persons, Uber X may be a better and more cost-effective option.
