With Madrid being the capital of Spain, it’s expected that there would be a musical melting pot of local and foreign artists. In fact, the Spanish city happens to host lots of techno talent all year round.

Everyone knows that excellent nightlife can be found in cities like Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris. Madrid is a less obvious destination for techno lovers, similar to cities like Lisbon and Warsaw.

Of course, all you need for a night of techno is a good speaker, so one can always enjoy techno party at home or in a hotel room.  But cities like Madrid offer locals and foreigners alike an unforgettable experience with the underground environment, advanced sound systems, and unsuspecting friendships waiting to be made.

There is no doubt that the electronic scene is expanding in Madrid. A night out on the town brings everyone together on the dance floor for some good music and then sends them home for a good night’s sleep. But where can you find the best of it? Here is a list of the top clubs we suggest you check the lineup.

Fabrik

Fabrik is a Madrid classic. Although it’s not located in the city center, the club hosts  big names in techno consistently throughout the year. Situated in the northeast corner of the map, Fabrik is a huge techno wonderland.

With a 4,000 person capacity, it hosts some of Spain’s largest techno, house, and trance events. The club itself features large-scale lighting systems and ice machines that fill the giant space with smoke. Laser shows and video projection screens also contribute to the event’s magic.

In addition to the cavernous indoor space, Fabrik also features an outdoor terrace with a pool. There are three stages to accommodate the large numbers of dancers that travel to Humanes to enjoy the night, and the club’s estranged location actually means that the music can get even louder.

And even though the venue isn’t perfectly situated, the company organizes a bus to take you there and back. Fabrik offers bus rides to and from Plaza Espana so that it won’t be impossible for you to visit this amazing club in the Humanes de Madrid district.

While the club is huge, its influence doesn’t end at the metropolitan discoteca. In fact, Fabrik is part of Grupo Kapital, a collection of music associations in Madrid. Partnered with Fabrik under this union is the seven-story club, Teatro Kapital, which is also mentioned in our article on What to Do As a Solo Traveler in Madrid.
