Top 5 Nail Salons in Lisbon

If there’s one thing that Portuguese people do well, it’s self care and grooming. So much so that in Lisbon, you’ll find a lot of nail and beauty salons stay open until as late as 10pm, so that everyone has a chance to get their grooming done before day end.

These are five great establishments in the Portuguese capital, but I would recommend keeping an eye out for the lesser known nail spots that are tucked away in the cascading side streets. Often, these house the very best nail technicians in the city, they’re just out of touch when it comes to social media.

The Beauty Bar in Lisbon

The Beauty Bar is a picture perfect salon on the coast of Lisbon. You’ll find it en route to the LX Factory, and just a 3 minute walk from the historic Lisbon Cathedral.

This is not solely a space for nails; you’ll be able to book all waxing, massage and grooming services as well. If you opt for a mani-pedi, you’ll likely be tended to by two technicians at once; attentive and professional service.

The Beauty Bar are generally very good at accommodating walk-ins, however I do suggest you book in advance — just incase! On that note, The Beauty Bar may have the best deep tissue massage in all of Lisbon… just saying.

Vanité Beauty Bar is in the north of the city, closet the Gulbenkian Museum. If you’re looking to plan a full day out, I would recommend starting with the museum, and working your way to a mani-pedi appointment late afternoon; this salon stays open late!

Nígara Beauty Nails in Lisbon

Somehow, Le Relais de L’Entrecôte is now known around the world as the Parisian go-to for the finest meat cuts and speciality sauces to compliment them.

There are two establishments for Nígara Beauty Nails in Lisbon; one in the far north of the city, and one in the far south. If you visit the location in Chiado, you can have your nails done by Nígara herself.

The service is excellent, and the pricing is affordable, especially given the locations of these salons. Most patrons at Nígara Beauty Nails have been coming religiously for years. Any business that can get locals to enter tourist-ridden Chiado, is a business worth checking out.

I would recommend booking in advance. Nígara has a small staff and it is better to avoid disappointment. Also note that this salon is not open on Sundays or Mondays in Lisbon.

IN’Canto in Lisbon

Aesthetically, IN’Canto looks like the set of an old Hollywood movie. Plush red velvet meets gold trim; they’re definitely going for that luxury feel.

Their technicians are highly skilled and very professional. The utmost care is taken in ensuring you feel transported and relaxed for the duration of your service.

There really isn’t a bad word to be said about this salon, and the online reviews would agree. The downside is the location; it’s convenient for Lisbon locals living in the suburbs, but if you’re visiting the center you’ll have to make your way north to have your nails done here.

IN’Canto is situated near the district of Azul. There is some gorgeous architecture to be seen in this part of Lisbon, if you have some time to walk around before or  after your appointment.

The best nail salons tend to be those run by women who take their craft seriously enough to name their establishment after themselves. At Heloísa Nails you’ll have your claws tended to by none other than Heloísa herself.

She is skilled, kind and works magic on even the most dire of nails. Heloísa is running a small business out of a small space, just up the coast from The Alfama. If you’re willing to make the journey, there are few better places to have your nails done whilst in Lisbon.
