7 Best areas to stay in Lisbon for one night

Are you staying in Lisbon for a night? There are plenty of options to go with when you’re choosing your accommodation for the night.

Lisbon’s accommodation scene has exploded recently, from historic buildings and palaces to excellent hotels or even the cheapest hostels! There are real bargains to be had in the off-season. In the other hand, the city can get very busy and crowded from June to September. Prices are at their highest during the summer and you’ll need to book ahead to avoid any disappointments.

Regardless of the place you stay, always have in mind that Lisbon is a small city and you can travel from one point to the other by metro in less than 30 minutes.

Here is a list of choices for you to take depending on your taste and curiosity of Lisbon.

The eye-catching rooms have amazing and creative bunk beds.

This hostel has a cool location, just beside the Cais do Sodré train station. Cais do Sodré is blessed with the front of the river and the view of 25th April bridge. This is where you will find some of the best bars and is where the best parties take place. Also, there is a big pathway along the river where you can walk or ride a bike. There are many cafes alongside it where you can take a drink and enjoy the sun (use the sunscreen)!

Lisbon Calling wanted to create a homely feeling, so bathrooms are shared for everyone (but dedicated women’s and men’s toilets and showers!). The living room is representative of a typical cosy and calm homestead.

Hotel do Chiado was built in the historical building of Armazéns do Chiado, the current shopping centre, which was completely refurbished by the famous architect Siza Vieira after the tragic fire of 1988.

This area where the hotel is located is the most trendy and elegant meeting point in Lisbon, being the only hotel in the city that offers rooms with private terraces and panoramic views of the Tagus River and the Castle. Its varied rooms offer lust, with their white colours that transmit calmness and cleanliness.

It also has a rooftop bar, located on the 7th floor, which is known for having the best view of Lisbon. This is the ideal place for a romantic dinner, a date with friends or just to unwind at the end of a working day.

From the dozens of restaurants and cafés nearby, to the National museum of Natural history, the Príncipe Real gardens to some trendy stores. All of these will keep you happy and satiated.

One of the trendy stores I can recommend is Embaixada. It is probably one of the most beautiful shopping spots in Lisbon. It takes place at this XIX century new-Arabian palace which was into this shopping gallery. You’ll find many national and original brands. Gastronomy, crafting, fashion and some more. You should go there and have the experience of this original shopping.
