Legoland Malaysia is Malaysia’s first international theme park. It was opened on September 15, 2012, in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia. It is the first Legoland theme park in Asia and the sixth in the world upon its establishment. It was officially opened by Sultan Ibrahim Ismail and Sultan of Johor on September 22.

It is good to know you should redeem your E-Ticket within the validity period. For children of 2 years and below their entry fee is free, however, their tickets can be purchased on arrival not online and a document to prove their age is required. For the adults, your tickets can be obtained online and no cancellation or refund is allowed after payment is made.

The Theme park  opening day and  opening time, as well as closing time, are:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday -10am -5 pm
  • Friday, Saturday- 10am- 7pm
  • Closed on: Wednesday

1. The First International Theme Park in Malaysia

The international theme Park was opened on September 15, 2012. It is the first International Theme Park in Legoland Malaysia since there is a lot of excitement surrounding the theme park.

Its official opening was graced by The Sultan of Johor and Sultan Ibrahim Ismail. Despite it being the first theme park in Legoland it is as well first Legoland theme park in Asia and the 6th in the whole world.

2. The Miniland Took Three Years to Complete

Miniland is the heart of every LEGOLAND Park, an attraction available at all Legoland Resorts. They are interactive zones that pay tribute to iconic landmarks across the globe with masterpieces build completely out of Lego bricks.

The Miniland in Legoland Malaysia was built for 3 years, which brings Asia’s iconic landmarks to life with over 30 million Lego bricks. Some of the buildings you find here include; The Petronas Twin Towers (constructed out of 500,000 LEGO bricks), Singapore’s Merlion, India’s Taj Mahal, and the Local Landmark of Johor.

One of the interesting facts about the park is that it is big. Whenever you visit the park don’t be in hurry, I recommend you take at least a whole day to be able to visit, explore and learn about everything. It occupies an area equivalent to 50 full-size football pitches and is filled with more than 15,000 Lego models made with over 60 million LEGO bricks.

The building and Test Centre is a comfortable space dedicated to the imagination and creativity of Lego lovers. If you get to visit you are allowed to spend hours putting together your Lego creations. The interesting part is you can test out the strength of your Lego building at the earthquake table and rate your work. 5. You’re Allowed to Meet and Greet LEGO Men

This is a question asked by many and others ask themselves. It is interesting to know that in LEGOLAND Malaysia you can hug, high-five, chat and even take photos with the LEGO men any time of the day.

There is as well interaction section scheduled on a day where you can sit in, dance, and even sing according to your favours. I advise you to check the schedule for the shows and performances on the LEGOLAND Malaysia official site to plan your visit to preference day.

6. You Get to Find Aquarium Featuring 13,000 Sea Creatures

In LEGOLAND Malaysia you get to find Sea Life which is known by a few and extremely underrated zone in the park. Sea Life was added to the park recently. It opened its doors to the public in 2009.

It is home to over 13,000 sea creatures from 120 species. It allows tourists to adventure and explores the amazing underwater world through an interactive educational journey.

7. It is Suitable for the Adult

Unlike many Parks where you find they consider children leaving adults behind, Legoland Malaysia is different. Despite a lot of mild, kid-oriented rides in the park, many attractions are adults friendly.

8. It’s Home to the First LEGO-Themed Virtual Reality Roller Coaster

LEGOLAND Malaysia Launched the first LEGO-theme  Virtual Reality roller coaster in late 2017. The park in Malaysia was the first to bring the experience to life, then by Legoland Resort in Florida and Germany in 2018.

The ride is always amazing and you will need more and more after finishing one ride to another. The ride combines roller coaster thrills with virtual reality (VR) technology whereby riders will put on VR headsets and be transported into a spectacular environment completely constructed out of LEGO bricks.

9. Site of Tourist Attraction

It is one of the tourist attractions in Malaysia.  Many features keep tourists visiting day after another leading to high revenue income and growth of Malaysia.

Apart from the Legoland Malaysia theme park, there are other attractive resorts such as Legoland Water Park (Lego-themed water theme park), and the Legoland Hotel (Lego-themed hotel) among others.

10. It is Worth Millions of Money

LEGOLAND Malaysia is divided into several major areas each featuring attractions sharing a common theme. Millions of money were used to make it.
