Elcin Sangu is a Turkish actress and model who has worked in a variety of films and as well as in various television series in Turkey. She is among the well compensated actresses in Turkey.

Born on 13th  August1985 to an actor mother in Izmir, both her parents are of Circassian origin.

She studied at Mersin University Fine Arts Faculty  Department of Opera and began her acting training at Sahne Tozu Theater.

She started her acting career in a drama Series Kanal D as Jale where she doubled up as a pianist and vocalist.

She  starred as Eda in a 2013 production Bir Aşk Hikâyesi, an adaptation of the South Korean television series I’m Sorry, I Love You.

In 2014, she portrayed Güzide in historical drama series Kurt Seyit ve Şura filmed in Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine.

In 2015, with defined character she played in Kiralik Ask, she got the Best Actress awards from Radyo Televizyon Gazetecileri Dernegi , Ayakli Gazette and MGD 22 Altin Objektif and from many other universities, educative, and public organizations. She even  became the face of Sunsilk care products and Boyner.

Her  first role on the silver screen was Mutluluk Zamani  in 2017. She also starred in an Ezel Akay film 9 Kere Leyla/Leyla Everlasting in 2020, which premiered on Netflix

In January 2018 she won the Best Actress in Comedy award from forty three Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards for her performance in the TV series Kiralik Ask.

She was born on 13^th august 1985, as the only child, to her parents . She was born to a Circassian descent family from Izmir in the western coast of Turkey.

Defne is  involved with a man named Ömer İplikçi who is  working to save himself from a blind date arranged by his aunt. He offers to marry  her and is ready to give 400,000 liras, but Defne only takes the money she needs (200,000 liras) and accepts the offer to free her brother from the people he is indebted to.

Her direction in the series got basic acclaim and  it was accounted  that Elcin Sangu would show up in a new series on Kanal D due to her starring performance in the Defne role.
