To demystify the red in the sand, this is actually black and red pulverized volcanic rock from Santorini special volcanic crater that’s otherwise known as a caldera.

Found in Santorini, Greece, the Red Beach can get rather crowded as it is small in size. While at the beach, you can purposely wander down to the ancient site of Akrotiri for sightseeing as you enjoy the rest of your walk at the beach.
