The one that got away? May not always be the case. JLO and Affleck rekindled their once-lost romance

If there is a woman who has had rotten luck when it comes to love, it’s gotta be Jennifer Lopez. In fact, I remember a joke that said, in life, you should manage to always act surprised the way JLO does every time she’s proposed to because they are a couple of times. However, all that changed when she got married to Ben Affleck on September 2022. The story of these two is quite intriguing. Their story goes way back to 2001 and it’s quite literally a case of rekindling an old romance. So never say that that ex of yours is history. You really never know. Life has very many surprises.

JLO and Affleck met at a set while shooting the movie “Gigli” where they appear as co-stars. Their professional relationship developed into something more and in 2002, they began dating and even got engaged that same year. However, they postponed their wedding to September 2003 but unfortunately split officially in January 2004. Seems however cupid wasn’t done with them because in July 2021, these two rekindled their relationship and got married at an intimate wedding in September 2022 in Las Vegas. Could be a coincidence, but I guess September is truly their month.

Their story kind of makes me think of life differently. It makes me realize that sometimes, it’s only because the timing isn’t right but not because the person you’re really into doesn’t like you anymore. I think life is way simpler than that but we somehow always manage to complicate it. Through this story, I’ve come to appreciate that timing is everything. When something doesn’t work out at the particular time you want it to work out, instead of forcing it, just back up a little and let it unfold by itself. If something was meant to be yours, whether it’s that dream job or romantic relationship or even that dream you’re busy chasing at the moment, it will surely happen. It may take days, months, or years but it will surely happen. I mean, for JLO and Affleck, it took them 20 freaking years. Literally! To come back together again. Maybe they needed those years apart so as to work on themselves individually and be the best version of themselves they can ever be so that when they meet again, they’ll be a better match.

I’m learning to take things easy and as they come. Through this story, I’m learning to train myself to never force things but just let life happen. It may be that at the moment you’re struggling but eventually, you’re gonna see why that wait was worth it. So anyway, never right someone or something you’re passionately chasing, off. Just because it didn’t work out at the beginning, doesn’t mean that’s the end of that story. It could actually be the beginning of your story. Life does indeed have so many surprises. I hope yours happens also. The good kind of surprise of course!
