Limitations to Sports Development

You will agree with me that there has been a massive development of various types of sports. Exposure, technology, advanced and intensive research, and, most importantly, opportunities to participate have all contributed to this. Football, basketball, and netball were the only most famous types of sports that were well recognized and prioritized three decades ago due to their lower number of risks. The world gradually expanded, and many sports games such as golf, baseball, boxing, horse racing, swimming, acrobatic sports, cycling, and others were introduced into society. We must not lose sight of the fact that these games pay and feed some people on a daily basis. Others have made a name for themselves as a result of these games. However, despite developing all of these different types, some have not fared well in the world for a variety of reasons that I will investigate. Though the main factors are emphasized here, I agree that my viewpoint may differ from yours as a reader.
Let us begin by Looking at laying Emphasis on Education only. Education is an essential component of human life and human resource development. Although education carries the deep meaning of acquiring these skill sets, it is frequently misunderstood as purely academic due to individual will and talent. Education will be critical in determining or ensuring an individual’s professional trajectory. Have you ever considered that sports shape lives more than education? What are our thoughts on students who are not well-rounded academically but excel in any other sport-related field? Some parents, communities, and even countries have emphasized the importance of education as the only way to achieve success. Allow children time to pursue what they are satisfied with.

A good example transports us to Senegal. The example of Sadio Mane, an international professional footballer emerging from a small village in Senegal. He pursued his talent in football and was called up to play for major English Clubs such as Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Mane’s contributions are beyond what the Senegalese government can Provide for the locals. He has built hospitals and developed football academies as well he ensures the basic needs of his village people are met, and they are not languishing in abject poverty. He has not achieved this much by education at all.

Lack of opportunities and access is diminishing sports. How many times has the government devised a system to ensure that rural youths are identified, and their talents are nurtured? How many times have you seen major clubs grooming African talent? I don’t want to sound like I’m mocking their system, but they can certainly improve on this. There are a lot of young men on the construction site who can play basketball well. There are young men and women who can swim well, and there are many young people who have football skills at their disposal, but proving it to society and the world is difficult. Certainly, because there are no opportunities or access.

In a nutshell, nurturing talents at an early stage and providing opportunities to talented individuals will promote growth. We need another Cristiano Ronaldo (footballer), another Lewis Hamilton (car racer), and another Eminem (rapper) in the future, and achieving this is simply opening up opportunities for all of these talented people.
How can I fail to include Discrimination? Why is discrimination so prevalent today? I thought we were in a different century where we were all learning, rather than the days of our great grandfathers when whites and blacks were like oil and water. Why are some players, particularly black players, subjected to discrimination? Let’s take a look at the football side. Discrimination against a person is the first step in killing a promising career and talent. Due to subjective racism, some black Africans have been forced to end their careers. We’ve seen players yelled at on the field, assaults on their homes, and social media insults all because of a stupid mistake made during a game. Consider what happened in the men’s football match between England and Italy at Euro 2020.

Rashford and Saka, two England black players, were given the task of taking penalties in the finals. The penalties were not converted by either player.
Due to the unbearable internet torture they were receiving, their social media had to be frozen for a while. When you win, you are a white person, but when you lose, you are an African person. Much can be accomplished by not wasting bright talents. Racism must be combated at all costs. Personal esteem is destroyed, confidence is lost, and the player is reduced to the status of a shadow. Isn’t this a modern world? Allow a large number of black players to compete in English leagues. This will result in some interactions and the realization that everyone is equal.

I can conclude these factors by examining corruption and money laundering. Corruption is the greatest economic threat not only to the government but also to the sports industry. Many times, the government provides funds to each ministry in order to support growth. Individuals assigned to these tasks end up with all or a large portion of the money in their pockets. This money, however, could have been used to build a stadium, purchase playing equipment for local teams, and organize sports events that bring people together to interact, among other things. Why does money spent on sports development end up in the pockets of those who are not held accountable?
Many times, players flying abroad to compete in specific competitions arrive late due to an unsupportive ministry as well as a late VISA. What’s the point of it all? If corruption and greed continue to flourish, I do not see a future for all sports. Let us adopt a new mindset and accept that things are changing and that we must adapt to them.
In general, sports as an activity can help to develop the world. It will accommodate both those who are gifted in multiple areas and those who are academically underprepared. Governments and other related organizations can run ahead of time to ensure good sports in the future, as well as the factors discussed above, among many others, are effectively reduced.
