Best lounge bars in Paris

Buddha Bar

Located at 8 Rue Boissy d’Anglas, you will find the Buddha Bar where cocktails cost between 12 to 14 euros. This restaurant-bar-lounge located close to the ultra-chic Faubourg St Honoré, is famous for its atmosphere.

Le Carmen

Next on my list of best lounge bars in Paris is Le Carmen, located at 34 rue Duperré. With its typical decoration from the Belle Epoque (1870’s) Le Carmen kept this special ambiance of decadency: very high ceilings, columns, mirrors, frescoes everything is made to show off and impress. Dress smart, order your cocktail and find one of the bed to sit languorously with your date. The red velvet draping hanged all over the place does assure a nice mix of intimacy and romantic atmosphere. Have fun!

The Pershing Hall

The Pershing Hall bar lounge is said to be one of the most beautiful in Paris. Cosy and warm, it offers a large selection of champagne, great wines and an original cocktail menu, along with DJ music. Located at 49 rue Pierre Charon, the cocktails cost about 15 to 20 euros. This lounge bar is a trendy address in Paris. It also offers a snack menu and when the weather allows it, the glass roof covering the terrace is opened, giving the bar a unique atmosphere.

Hôtel Costes

Founded in 1995 by the Costes brothers, Hôtel Costes is located just next to Place Vendôme and rue de la Paix, at 239 rue Saint Honoré (read more about things to do next to Vendôme Square). The Costes brothers were the first bar owners taking really care of the interior design asking designers and decorators like Philippe Starcks to work with them.

The Costes brothers set quickly a strategy of luxury (located so close to Place Vendôme what else can you do!?) and selective guests. The home DJ Stephane Pompougnac creates the most appreciated and celebrated lounge ambiance of Paris.

Quickly, Hôtel Costes also became a music label releasing more than 10 records. Spending your evening at Hôtel Costes might… cost you a bit of money. Bring your wallet as you might meet Johnny Depp, Madonna, Monica Bellucci or Sharon Stone who are great fans of this place.

L’hôtel

Oscar Wilde’s favorite bar and last home was L’hôtel. It became the beating heart of the swinging sixties. Located in St-Germain-des-Prés, it has welcomed artists such as Sinatra, Dali, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. The bar is a subtil mix of charm and a great example of the warm atmosphere of Paris left bank. Sit in one of those comfortable sofas and enjoy your drink at L’hôtel.
