Where to Find All Day Breakfast in Barcelona

All day breakfast is very much a far western concept, one that Europe is slowly but surely adopting. Up until very recently this wasn’t even a possibility at all; so when you’re munching on scrambled eggs at 7pm, count your blessings!

At present, there are but only a few spots where one can eat breakfast during the full period of opening hours; I will list them below.

Alsur Café Llúria in Barcelona

All day breakfast aside, Alsur Cafe is a really wonderful breakfast and brunch spot in which to start your day in Barcelona.

Everything on the menu is prepared to culinary perfection, be it the pancakes, Eggs Benedict or sticky, savory waffles.

They do have a lunch/dinner menu, that kicks in around noon, but everything in the cafe is available to order through until closing time at midnight. Open seven days a week, you can easily have breakfast for dinner every night if you so desire.

This is not the most affordable cafe in the city, but you won’t mind the prices in exchange for the quality and experience. Alsur is on par with Australian-inspired eateries found in a few key cities in Europe.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday — 8:30am to 12am
ADDRESS: Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 23, 08010 Barcelona, Spain
Metro STATION: Urquinaona

Billy Brunch in Barcelona

Word about Billy Brunch’s all day breakfast is out, and the queues start right out the door shortly after opening. I would say to come early, but I suppose that defeats the whole point of being able to eat breakfast at any time of the day.

So instead, you’ll come before 5pm; vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

In addition to their breakfast being all day, so are their mimosas. Children are welcome at Billy Brunch and will be provided with crayons and paper to entertain themselves while the adults do their thing.

A really great spot for shakshuka at any time of the day — take note!

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday — 9:30am to 5pm
ADDRESS: Carrer de Bailèn, 115, 08009 Barcelona, Spain

La Desayunería in Barcelona

La Desayunería is in el Raval. The name literally translates to ‘the breakfast’, so it’s pretty clear as to what you can expect from your visit.

The menu is made up of a variety of breakfast foods from all over the world. Some dishes are distinctly Spanish inspired, while others are more western.

Whether you’re looking to eat breakfast for breakfast, breakfast for lunch or even breakfast for dinner, La Desayunería is at the ready. Just note that dinner will be an early one, as the restaurant closes at 8pm sharp each evening.

Fruitarians will be please to know that they too are catered for at La Desayunería. The menu exhibits a range of fruit based bowls and plates, also available throughout the day.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Opening Hours: Wednesday to Monday — 8am to 8pm
ADDRESS: Carrer del Comte Borrell, 75, 08015 Barcelona, Spain
Metro STATION: Sant Antoni

EatMyTrip in Barcelona

EatMyTrip is a bakery in the city center, that recently added a really impressive breakfast/brunch menu to their opening hours of service.

While the bakery is great, their breakfast and brunch foods are incredible. Not only are the flavor combinations unique and experimental, the food is aesthetically very pleasing and worthy of a feature on every Instagram account that comes through the doors.

This isn’t an extensive menu, but you’ll be able to eat something eggy or fruity at all hours of the day. They also do a salmon bagel, which is something I’ve not seen in many breakfast spots in Barcelona.

Most of their baked goods sit on display at the front of the restaurant. The ready make goods can be bought on the spot, while custom cakes and treats can be made to order.

Those looking for a lighter breakfast will enjoy their all day croissants, too!

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday — 9am to 5pm
ADDRESS: Carrer del Consell de Cent, 378, 08009 Barcelona, Spain
Metro STATION: Girona

Federal Cafe in Barcelona

There are actually three Federal Cafe branches in Barcelona, all offering all day breakfast. I like this one between el Raval and Poble Sec, mostly because it is within walking distance at all times.

The Federal Cafe takes breakfast and brunch foods very seriously. It’s a trendy, health oriented spot, where people of all different dietary requirements dine in perfect harmony.

Vegans have access to all day breakfast here, too. Which isn’t an easy thing to find in Barcelona.

Dishes include croissants with condiments, red berries on rye with marscapone and salted caramel, Eggs Benny, your everyday scramble on toast and even shakshuka.

There are two lives to this Federal Cafe, and because of the nature of the space, many people come here with their laptops in search of somewhere to work for a few hours during the day. You can do so, but only on the ground floor. The upper is reserved solely for diners.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday — 8am to 11pm
ADDRESS: Carrer del Parlament, 39, 08015 Barcelona, Spain
Metro STATION: Poble Sec

All day breakfast in Barcelona might be limited, but guided walking tours through the city are not. These can be enjoyed throughout the day, without exception. Have you booked your slot?
