Top 10 Best Burgers in Barcelona

Spaniards love burgers, and Barcelona is dripping in burger joins to climb into after a long day of touring the city.

These are 10 spots that I frequent throughout the year. All of them are distinctly unique and bring something different to the table, so it really depends on what you’re craving and the vibe you’re in the mood for. Read on!

1. Timesburg Poblenou in Barcelona

If you’ve not already seen these burgers on Instagram, you’re following the wrong Spanish food bloggers.

Timesburg has taken over Barcelona, with 8 branches throughout the city. This one in Poblenou is the most vibey, and they have extensive veggie options.

Trust Timesburg to have attempted a foie gras burger, and perfected it.

2. Bar Centro in Barcelona

In the mood for a juicy burger and ice cold beer? Bar Centro is the spot. There aren’t many vegetarian options here, but meat eaters will be charmed by the delectable menu.

Get the patatas bravas as a side, and don’t be shy in trying as many of the craft beers as you can stomach. This spot is a short walk from Barcelona’s Arc de Triomf, and the Ciutadella Park.

3. Pim Pam Burger in Barcelona

Pim Pam Burger has been here in the el Born district since 2006. They have a no nonsense approach to burger making, as well as an understated pallet in terms of flavor.

These are American burgers like you see them in the movies: thick patties, sliced tomato, lettuce and onion. Cheese is optional, as are pickles and other more unique forms of garnish.

The fries are nothing special, and I find the burgers filling enough without them.

Hours: Monday TO Sunday —  1pm to 11pm
ADDRESS: Carrer del Sabateret, 4, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
Metro STATION: Barceloneta

4. Anauco in Barcelona

You’ll find Anauco burger joints all over Barcelona, but I most enjoy this one near to the Sagrada Familia.

At Anauco it’s all about quality and fresh ingredients. Their meat is locally sourced and much tastier than most European beef in this class range. This is one spot where I would absolutely recommend getting the fries!

There are other meals, such as nachos, steaks and desserts for anyone who isn’t eating burgers tonight.

5. Bacoa Burger Ferran in Barcelona

Bacoa made burgers so good that they not only spread across Barcelona, but throughout greater Spain. You must eat here at least once whilst in the country — I’m almost certain I can fondly remember every burger I’ve ever eaten here.

Whatever you order, be sure to get the truffle mayo added to the bun. Admittedly, Bacoa’s fries aren’t worth the stomach space, but the burgers are worth every penny.

They have vegan options, too!

6. 99% Moto Bar in Barcelona

I stumbled into this Moto Bar one evening totally unplanned. To my delight they made one of the tastiest burgers in this part of the city; if you’re ever in the deep south of Barcelona, look them up!

I wouldn’t recommend Moto Bar for vegetarian food; this is a meat eaters den, you’re lucky to get garnish on your roll!

7. Big Al’s – Real American Burgers in Barcelona

Back in the CBD, Big Al’s is all American dining with meals that you’ll break a sweat trying to finish.

Their curly fries are enough to justify a visit, but throw in a classic burger and shake, and you’ve got something very special in front of you.

Big Al’s also offers a range of in house beers to accompany your meal.

8. Mamy Ildy in Barcelona

Just a short walk from Big Al’s is Mamy Ildy; a hamburger restaurant with diner-style appeal.

The burgers are delicious, and stacked up high. They also offer the best gluten free buns in Barcelona, which is worth noting if you don’t usually eat regular bread.

Vegans have the option of a seitan patty.

9. Makamaka in Barcelona

There aren’t many burgers near Barceloneta beach that have impressed me to the point of wanting to recommend them to others, but Makamaka is a spot worth noting!

The burgers are chunky and soft, as well as crunchy in all the right places. Vegetarians can get some great meals here, and there are wraps and salads for those who aren’t in the burger mood.
