The Best Falafels in Amsterdam

Paris is a fantastic European city in which to hunt down your favorite DJs, especially in the summer season when they tour the biggest cities and play at the most renowned venues.

Here is where you should go to find the best lineups and top DJs sets while in Paris.

Maoz in Amsterdam

Maoz will always make the cut for some of the best falafel in every European city. There’s usually one or more of these falafel shops in the major cities around the continent; lucky for you Amsterdam has over ten branches, while London has just one.

Maoz is a grab-and-go concept in which the only thing on the menu is either a falafel shawarma or a falafel plate. You’ll order your size, choose your premium ingredients and sauces, & then make your way over to the DIY buffet with all of the toppings you can imagine.

10 of the Best Coffee Shops in Amsterdam

The buffet is free for the duration of your meal, meaning you can eat your falafel at your leisurely pace and continue to top up on certain ingredients as you go. I should also mention Maoz is incredibly cheap, coming in at little over €5 per meal.

Dr. Falafel in Amsterdam

One glance at the reviews on Dr. Falafel and it appears that many regard this as the best falafel in Amsterdam.

Coming in at only €7 per meal, it’s easy to see why travelers flock here to fill their bellies during a day of site seeing. It’s easily one of the most filling, affordable meals in the city center, and more than that, it’s super nutritious!

Kauffmann in Amsterdam

Any opportunity to eat on the terrace at Kauffmann and I’m in! In my opinion, this is the best falafel pita in all of the Dam — and believe me, I’ve eaten my way through this city’s falafel joints.

It’s served with sweet potato fries which are a treat in and of themselves. The rest of the menu is a treat too, with a tasty range of quesadillas, jalapeño poppers, halloumi fries and more.

Their tagline involves “Kauffmann promises you falafel you have never tasted before”… so there you pretty much have it.

Sababa in Amsterdam

This is another spot that locals and travelers in Amsterdam just can’t get enough of. There are a few Sababa locations around the city center, but the one that I recommend is in the heart of De Pijp.

Their falafel pitas are perfectly balanced; not too heavy, and certainly not too light. This is a fulfilling meal if you’re on the go, though I would recommend dining in if you have the time.

Sababa was once known for their halloumi fries. These are no longer on the menu, but you can still order them if you ask for them by name. Oh, and always request a side of their vegan mayo!

d&a hummus bistro in Amsterdam

Fantastic hummus, fantastic falafel — you can’t go wrong with dropping in at d&a from time to time. It goes without saying that this is a great spot for vegans, or anyone who loves a healthy green meal in their day to day.

This is a duplicate spot to a restaurant in Tel Aviv — and those who have been to both say that it’s definitely up to scratch. Come for the falafel, but if you’re a fan of shakshuka I would absolutely recommend trying this too!

Don’t be put off at the thought of cauliflower hummus either — it’s sensational!
