In Umbria, you will find beautiful towns and typically made products. The town that I prefer is Spello, especially during spring. This charming hilltop village is located near Monte Subasio.
The village has beautiful vistas of green mountains and in spring is loaded with flowers.
Those paved streets will lead you to hold buildings and medieval-styled places.

The region Tuscany is also filled with some “chicche” (aka beautiful pearls) to visit.
Monteriggioni is one of them.
Once there you will remain mesmerized. The village is encircled by 13th-century walls and many towers.
Monteriggioni seems suspended in the medieval age. This beautiful citadel stands at 20 km from Siena. Absolutely a must-see!

Atrani is a small village located along the Amalfi Coast. Beautifully located on top of a mountain near the sea. During summer is a very lively place to visit, tourist come from every part of the world to admire this special village. This coastal village is full of coloured and picturesque houses and in the centre, you will find a beautiful medieval typical Italian “piazza” or square.  Where once the life of the entire town used to develop with markets and fairs. I suggest you to visit the village in May or June while the Italians still work, so you will find moments to relax and take long baths in the sea.

10. The dead town: Civita di Bagnoregio

Once you visited Rome take your car and go to visit Civita di Bagnoregio. Here in Italy, we call it “la città che muore” because there is no one living there. The town is located on the top of this mountain that due to the climate is consumed along the sides. Once on the top, you will find churches with splendid mosaics outside and some places to eat and a bar. The city became a tourist attraction and now the region has obtained money to try and save the structure of the mountain and the village on top! I hope that they’ll save it because it’s a beautiful breathtaking place to visit!

11. Procida Island: Corricella

Once on Procida Island, you must absolutely see this marvellous village, Corricella. This is a typical fisherman village but is very colourful due to the many houses that you will see. The building have a cubic funny shape which makes the village special and similar to the Greek houses. I suggest you to visit this beautiful and particular town, especially during summer to enjoy the hot weather and fresh seawater. If you want to avoid the “touristic crowds” you can visit it in September, but always check the availability of the places before booking!
