Things to do in Paris in November

The month of November in Paris is the perfect time for wine lovers and antiques enthusiasts! During mid-fall, Paris opens itself to multiple artistic events and is emptied of its tourists mobs. Come and enjoy the pleasure of having Paris and its treasures to yourself. Here’s our list of things to do in Paris in November.

Learn more about photography

First, the city will once again host the “Paris Photo” exhibition. This annual event, launched in 1997, happens in November at the Grand Palais. This year it will take place from November, 6th, until November, 10th. The monument serves as a showcase for the discovery of contemporary photographers from all around the world. Some 151 international galleries and publishers showing photography from as far back as the nineteenth century will be on the scene this year. This year, over 80 exhibitions are being coordinated for the “Paris Photo“, as well as film screenings, conferences, fairs and other events photography-related.

This is one of the most interesting things to do in Paris in November and it takes place at the Grand Palais around the metro station Champs-Elysées Clémenceau or Franklin Roosevelt. It’s a great even for all of you who love photography or have always been interested in learning more about it. The event truly shows the evolution of photography which is a very interesting theme. For me, photography is the best way to capture moments, make them eternal, but also to make a statement or show aspects of daily life. I think it’s a great exhibition that show all the functions of photography, and studies essential subjects, such as the future of photography.

Enjoy the quietest time of the year

Long gone are the endless lines of tourists and the overcrowded metro cars. In my opinion, November is definitely the quietest month of the year in Paris. You will have the chance to visit many places without having to queue and wait for hours. It’s the perfect month if you want to immerse yourself in the Parisian lifestyle. You’ll have more chances of striking up a conversation with the locals, who have all long since returned from summer vacation. November really is the less touristy month!

Have a walk in a Parisian garden

Stroll and admire the fall foliage in one of these sublime Parisian parks and gardens. From the Tuileries to the Luxembourg, the gardens turn into a beautiful orange shade that is worth a walk. And take a warm crepe, a delicious and smooth pastry, to give you company as you one of Paris gardens. It is very peaceful and definitely one of the best things to do in Paris in November! The atmosphere of Paris gardens in November is pretty unique.

Visit the Picasso Museum

It is now one of the most modern and comfortable museum of Paris. The Picasso Museum also has the best paintings and the most famous of the Spanish great artist. You should know that for all the museums in Paris, skip-the-line tickets can be pretty useful. I advise you to get one if you decide to visit the Picasso Museum.

Located in the heart of the Marais, there also are great walks around the museum, whether you rather go shopping, try nice French food or visit art galleries.

Try the Beaujolais Nouveau

And now one of the things to do in Paris in November for the wine lovers! France is well-known for its gastronomy and its secular art of unique wines. Well, November is also the month of the annual release of the Beaujolais Nouveau. There are about 120 festivals to honor the arrival of this enticing young wine in the Beaujolais region alone, not to mention throughout France and across the globe.

It can be found in any bistro of the capital this day. It will be on the tables from the 21st of November, on the third thursday of the month!

Go to a flea market

Finally, one of my favorite things to do in Paris in November is to go to a flea market! The unique French charm at a flea market is not to be missed. It is the heaven for the one looking for a unique, vintage gift, from furniture to jewelry.

You absolutely need to go to a flea market because you will find the most marvellous objects! And I think it can be a great option for souvenirs from Paris!

Prepare to time travel and to bring back home objects full of Parisian charm, such as Parisian vintage clothes from the 60’s and furniture from the seventeenth century. I’m confident you will be very pleased, because in Paris we have the world’s largest flea market. It would be a shame to miss it!

You can visit the flea market on your own or you can explore the market with one of our guides and learn precious information about the history of the Paris Flea Market. Either way, you should visit it!

Visit Versailles and its marvellous Palace

Chateau de Versailles - Galerie des Glaces

If you have enough time during your stay in Paris, you should definitely go to Versailles. It is marvelous, not only because of the palace but also because of the village of Versailles. The Versailles Palace is especially nice to visit in November because it’s a lot less crowded compared to other times of the year.

Shopping, food markets and nice spring walks in Versailles are the best way to relax and get a nice reprieve from the hustle & bustle of Paris! Taste the royal lifestyle and let us take care of everything!

Taste the finest wine at: Salon du Vin de la Revue de France

You know that French people are fond of wine. That’s why we have it in all colors: red, white, rosé, etc! (Joking). Wine is omnipresent and essential to accompany our meals.

So to declare our love for wine, it seems logical to have a whole exhibition dedicated to it! From the 29th of November until the 2nd of December, at the Salon du Vin de la Revue de France, you can enjoy free wine tastings here, but the most interesting are the winemakers themselves, who come from all over France with their different accents.

They talk about their jobs, their experiences, and explain why local products are the best. This is one of my favorite things to do in Paris in May, especially because the price of the wine you get there is much cheaper! The producer sells it directly to the consumer.

You now know some of things to do in Paris in November. November is a very peaceful and relaxing month to come to Paris, so you’re very lucky! Paris is the best to warm our hearts before the cold winter comes. The places still keep all the charm and they are much less crowded!

Nonetheless, you need to know that November can get kind of cold and it also sometimes rain, so don’t forget to bring warm clothes, especially for the nights! I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this article! I want you to enjoy Paris in the best conditions, so don’t hesitate to contact us for further information! See you soon in Paris!
